A seller with 800 active listings saw a new message in the Allegro panel: some of his listings needed "product safety data" to be completed. He clicks into editing and sees fields that weren't there before — "responsible person", "manufacturer", "warnings". The question is: what exactly should go into each field so the listing doesn't get restricted? This article is a practical guide.

We show step by step how to add GPSR data to your Allegro listing — which fields need to be filled in, where to get the content from, and how to avoid a mistake that ends in a block.

Key points at a glance

  • Allegro provides dedicated GPSR fields in listing editing — entering data in the free-text description isn't enough.
  • Required data includes the manufacturer's details, the EU responsible person's details, and safety warnings.
  • The data must be visible to the buyer before purchase — this is what GPSR requires for distance selling.
  • Data can be added individually or in bulk for many listings at once.

Where the requirement comes from

GPSR (Regulation EU 2023/988, in force since 13 December 2024) requires that, in distance selling, the consumer receive product safety information before the transaction is concluded. Allegro, as an online platform, has its own obligations and has moved this requirement into the listing structure in the form of separate fields. We explain why this isn't "optional" in Allegro — listing blocked for lack of GPSR, and how to avoid it.

Which fields need to be filled in

FieldWhat to enter
ManufacturerManufacturer's name and address (brand + factory/brand details)
EU responsible personName, address and contact of the entity in the Union — for an importer, usually their own company
Safety warningsWarning texts in Polish + pictograms, if applicable
Instructions / safety informationShort safe-use instructions in Polish

Step by step in the Allegro panel

  1. Go into editing the listing and find the product safety data (GPSR) section.
  2. In the Manufacturer field, enter the manufacturer's name and address. If you sell under your own brand, you are the manufacturer.
  3. In the EU responsible person field, provide the details of an entity established in the Union. As an importer based in Poland, you usually enter your own company's details (name, address, email/phone).
  4. In the Warnings field, add texts in Polish and select the appropriate pictograms (if the product requires them).
  5. Save and check the listing preview — the data should be visible to the buyer.

How to do it in bulk

With hundreds of listings, editing one by one is impractical. Allegro allows you to complete safety data collectively — through bulk listing editing or by assigning defined manufacturer and responsible-person data to many products at once. It's worth creating data "profiles" (manufacturer, responsible person) once and assigning them to subsequent listings, rather than retyping them each time.

Where to get the content for the fields

You have the manufacturer's and responsible person's data from your own company and your supplier. What's harder are the warnings and instructions in Polish — they must be factually correct and tailored to the product, not translated haphazardly from a Chinese label. This is the most common bottleneck. Ready-made, correct texts speed up the whole process. We describe how to prepare safety data content in Safety data in an Allegro listing — GPSR.

Common mistakes when filling in

  • Entering data only in the description, skipping the dedicated fields.
  • Leaving warnings in English or Chinese.
  • An empty responsible person field ("because it's a Chinese manufacturer") — you need to name an entity in the EU.
  • Entering the seller's data as the manufacturer without actual branding — if you're not the manufacturer, keep the roles separate.

Frequently asked questions

Where on Allegro do you add GPSR data?

In listing editing, in the dedicated product safety data section. You'll find fields for manufacturer data, EU responsible person data, and safety warnings. Entering them only in the free-text description isn't enough — you need to fill in the correct, structured fields.

What should I enter in the "EU responsible person" field?

The details of an entity established in the European Union: name, address and contact. If you're an importer based in Poland, you most often enter your own company's details, because you're the one fulfilling the responsible person role for a product brought in from outside the EU.

Does GPSR data have to be in Polish?

Safety warnings and instructions must be in the language of the country of sale, i.e. Polish. Contact details for the manufacturer and responsible person are given as they actually appear, but content directed at the consumer must be understandable in Polish.

I have hundreds of listings — do I have to edit them one by one?

No. Allegro allows you to complete safety data in bulk and assign defined manufacturer and responsible-person data to many listings at once. It's worth preparing ready-made data profiles once and assigning them in bulk.
